Transgender Day of Remembrance 2026
Each year on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we come together to honor the transgender people whose lives have been lost and to hold space for grief, remembrance, community, and hope. Join us on Friday, November 20th for an evening of remembrance and connection.
Friday
November 20th
6pm: Memorial at the Arc of Dreams
300 N Cherapa Pl, Sioux Falls, SD 57103
We’ll gather beneath the Arc of Dreams, lit in the colors of the transgender flag, for a memorial service honoring those we have lost. Together, we’ll read their names and take part in a remembrance ceremony.
6:30pm - 8pm: Community Gathering at the
Prism Center
500 N. Western Ave. Sioux Falls, SD 57104
After the memorial, we invite you to join us at Prism for a warm, supportive space to be together. The evening will include therapeutic art activities, community resources, storytelling, warm drinks and snacks, and opportunities to connect with one another.
TDOR is a day of grief, but it is also a reminder of the importance of caring for the transgender and gender-diverse people who are here today. Come as you are. Participate in whatever way feels right for you. Whether you create something, connect with someone, access support, or simply sit with community, there is space for you here.
