Be An Ally

According to the Trevor Projects 2022 National Survey, 80% of LGBTQ youth in South Dakota have experienced discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

48% of SD LGBTQ youth report that recent politics negatively impact their wellbeing sometimes, while 39% report that recent politics impacts their wellbeing a lot.

Transgender individuals face significant discrimination and marginalization in many areas of life, including employment, housing, healthcare, and education. Allies can use their privilege and power to amplify the voices of trans individuals, challenge oppressive behaviors and attitudes, and you can help to create a world where everyone feels valued and respected. It requires individuals to take action against oppression and discrimination, even if it does not directly affect them. By working together as allies, we can create a better world for everyone.
